GRANTHAM, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy was edged out by Messiah in a close 8-6 defeat , but
Tony McCraw continued his assault on the Griffin record books, as the senior became the all-time scoring leader with his three goals and assist.
McCraw was two points behind
Nico Belardo '15 (146 points) entering today's game and would tie the mark with his goal to start the fourth quarter. He would then set the mark with his unassisted tally with 8:54 left in the game to make it a 7-5 contest. McCraw would then set up
Joseph Pandolfi for the freshman's first collegiate goal just over three minutes later to pull GMercyU within one. Both goals came on the man-up, taking advantage of two Falcon penalties.
Ryan Simpson scored twice in the first half as Gwynedd trailed 3-2 after 30 minutes of play. Messiah would extend their lead with two goals in the first 7:13 of the third quarter before McCraw and Pandolfi scored.
Messiah's Chris Bry would score with 3:39 left to account for the scoring on the day. Gwynedd had a few chances in the latter parts of the quarter but could pull no closer.

Sean Myers made a career-high 13 saves for the Griffins (1-3) while Sam Stengel had 11 for the Falcons (2-4).
Gwynedd Mercy is back in action next Saturday when they welcome DeSales in a noon start.
