IMMACULATA, PA. -- Immaculata took three from Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, as the Griffins fell, 3-0, to the Mighty Macs in a Colonial States Athletic Conference Match. Set scores were 25-12, 25-18, and 25-18.

The team started slowly in the first, totaling eight kills with 10 hitting errors and did not hold a lead. IU jumped out to a 6-0 lead en route to the 25-12 win. The second would see the Griffins unable to catch up after an early deficit. In the third, the teams went back-and-forth in the beginning, with GMercyU holding an 11-8 edge. But the Mighty Macs went on an 8-2 run and later a 6-1 spurt to open up a sizable advantage.

Casey Griffith would total her 11thh double double on the season with 15 kills and 18 digs. Laura Kirk dug out 20 while adding a pair of aces. Kerry McGlinn was a dig shy of a double double as well, assisting on 19 of the team's 27 kills.

Gabrielle Guerrera, Arden Vizzard, and Olivia Zdradzinski would each tally double doubles respectively for IU (7-11, 4-2 CSAC). Guerrera with 10 kills and 14 digs, Vizzard with 11 kills and 14 digs, and Zdradzinski with 29 assists and 11 digs. Shelby Belk kicked in eight kills and six blocks (three solo).

The Griffins (9-13, 4-4 CSAC) are off until Tuesday when they travel to Neumann to try and keep pace for a playoff berth.
