CHESTER, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy was overwhelmed at Widener, falling to the Pride, 18-4, on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Kelsey Yori (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) scored all the Griffins 'goals while adding two groundballs, two draws, and a caused turnover. Junior Brianna Greer (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) registered three groundballs.

Kelsey Powell and Brooke Clasing each had four goals for Widener. Teammate Megan Garvey added three goals and two assists.

After Yori led off the game with a tally 51 seconds into the game, the Pride (5-4) then held GMercyU scoreless the rest of the half to take a 15-1 lead at the break.

The Griffins (5-6) were outshot, 32-14, while Widener held the edge in groundballs, 20-14. Freshman goalie Bria Gillard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) made eight stops.

Gwynedd Mercy is off until Thursday when they head to Marywood for a CSAC matchup.
