IMMACULATA, PA. -- The playoff run has come to an end for the Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball Team as Immaculata defeated the Griffins, 74-46, in a semifinal matchup Wednesday evening.

Senior Kelsey Yori (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) and freshman Dee Terry (Pottstown, Pa./Boyertown) were the only two Griffins in double figures, scoring 14 and 11 respectively. The Griffins shot 24% from the floor to the game (16-for-66).

Gwynedd had a rough start, falling behind 14-0 4:32 into the first half. But the team persisted, and rallied to get within four on three occasions, the last coming with 4:16 in the stanza after a bucket from Yori. After trading field goals the rest of the way, GM was only down 29-23 at the half. Both teams each shot under 27% in the first 20 minutes.

The Mighty Macs opened the second stanza on an 11-3 run, to put the Griffins in a double-digit deficit they would not be able to climb out of. IU would go on and hit on 13-of-28 (46%) in the period and take advantage of 14 Griffin turnovers to score 19 points.

Sara Smith had a game-high 28 points for Immaculata (17-9), who advanced to the CSAC Final to face Cabrini. Brittany Merkle added 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The loss puts an end to the teams two seniors; Yori and Natasha Matthews (Norristown, Pa./Norristown). Yori missed only two games in her career, totaling 740 points, 279 rebounds, 219 assists, and 119 steals in 107 games. Matthews, who was granted a medical redshirt after four games in the 2010-11 season, leaves with 110 games played, surpassing the 1,000-point mark with 1,129 career points. She also added 689 rebounds, 84 steals, and 76 blocks. The duo were a part of the last CSAC Championship that the Griffins won in 2012.
