BOX SCORE

RADNOR, PA. -- In the regular-season finale, Gwynedd Mercy lost, 91-82, at Cabrini Wednesday night. The Griffins (16-9, 11-7 CSAC) have now clinched the #4 playoff seed and will host a first-round game on Saturday, February 21st.

Junior Darnell Artis (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) had 19 points and seven assists. Junior Brian Hennessey (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) added 17 while senior Seth Heinicke (Warminster, Pa./Calvary) added 11.

GM would hit seven of their eight three-pointers in the first 11:04 of the opening half, the last coming from Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) to give the Griffins a 29-19 advantage. The Cavaliers would then use a 22-5 run to close the stanza to erase the lead as Cabrini held a 43-36 edge at the break.

Early in the second, a layup off a steal from sophomore Larry Jones III (Woodbine, N.J./Holy Spirit) helped GM claw back into it, trailing, 53-48. But the Cavaliers would use a run 11-2 over the next three minutes to open up a 14-point lead. The Griffins could not climb out of the double-digit hole.

Despite going 7-for-15 from behind the arc in the first, the Griffins were only 1-of-11 in the second. Overall, they went 34-for-77 (44%) from the field. GM would force 13 turnovers that led to 22 points.

Aaron Walton-Moss led Cabrini (16-9, 13-5 CSAC), who clinched the top playoff seed, with a triple double (16 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists). Vinny Walls posted a game-high 23 points as six players reached double figures. The Cavaliers held a 43-37 rebound edge.

Gwynedd Mercy will host Rosemont, the #5 seed, here at the Griffin Complex this Saturday in a time TBD.
