RADNOR, PA. -- Cabrini handed Gwynedd Mercy a 3-0 CSAC loss Tuesday night (25-13, 25-15, 25-14) sending the Griffins to their fifth loss in their last six games.
GM (9-18, 5-4 CSAC) totaled 19 kills for a .073 hitting percentage. Senior
Brianna Greer led Gwynedd with six kills, but it was the Cavaliers who tallied a 42 kills as a team.
An 8-0 run in the first set helped Cabrini (18-6, 6-0 CSAC) jump out to a 10-point lead. Christine Ingargiola notched six of her match-high 13 kills in the frame. The second set saw Cabrini amass 16 kills en route to a 2-0 lead. In the third, Gwynedd could not stop an 8-0 run after they would score the first two points of the set. They would battle to get it to 13-10, but the Cavs pulled away thanks to a 7-0 spurt.
Senior
Laura Kirk chipped in 14 digs for her 18th match this season with double-digit digs. Freshman
Samantha Schearer added five kills.
The Griffins will play at Marywood on Saturday in a big conference matchup with playoff implications. Gwynedd trails the Pacers for the sixth and final playoff spot and can help themselves out with a key victory.
