Senior
John Burns (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI's as the teams traded blows in the early innings. His double in the first plated
Dante Cassano (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) for a 1-0 lead. Keystone answered with a two-run Gaston Rojas homerun and a sac fly from Dominick Montanaro in the second. Cassano would go deep for a two-run shot of his own in the third to knot it at 3-3 before an RBI single in the bottom of the frame put the Giants back on top, 4-3.
After a Giant run in the sixth, Gwynedd used seven hits to score five runs in the seventh to take an 8-6 edge. GM would chase out Keystone starter Darren Lauer but leave the frame with the bases loaded.
But in the bottom half, the Giants (26-12) took advantage of three Griffin errors to score five runs of their own on three hits and a hit by pitch to lead 11-8.
An RBI double from
Tom Bordi (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) in the eighth made it a two-run game. But the Giants pulled away for good as Lymbel Guerrero's grand slam was part of a six-run frame.
