Game one starter
Matt Rakus (Sewell, N.J./St. Augustine) gave up one run in a complete game victory. The junior yielded four hits while walking two and striking out three. After the Knights used an RBI double in the top of the sixth, the Griffins responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame to open up the lead.
Offensively,
Rick Elfreth (Washington Twp., N.J./St. Augustine) had three hits while
Dante Cassano (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and

Cassano's two-out two-run single in the third put GM on the board. Elfreth would drive home a run in the fifth.
It was more than enough for Rakus, who didn't allow a baserunner until the fourth via a walk and a hit until the fifth.
