READING, PA. -- Alvernia handed Gwynedd Mercy a 13-4 setback Tuesday afternoon to snap the Griffin's three-game win streak.

Senior Dante Cassano (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) had three hits for Gwynedd (9-7) and sophomore Carlo Randazzo (Sewell, N.J./St. Augustine) added two RBI's but the Crusaders broke open a 6-3 game with four runs in the sixth.

Richie Ricciardi was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and two RBI's for Alvernia. His RBI single in the sixth was one of four runs in the frame. The Crusaders (14-5) scored a run in all but one inning on the day.

Beau Fleming (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) took the loss, going five innings, and allowing five earned runs on eight hits.

The team plays a CSAC Doubleheader tomorrow at Neumann starting at 1 p.m. with Gwynedd as the home team in both contests.
