BOX SCORECENTER VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy couldn't catch DeSales as the Griffins fell at the Bulldogs, 72-59, Thursday night in non-conference action.
Leading by nine with 3:46 to play in the first half, Gwynedd would be outscored 15-2 to close the stanza and trail 35-33 at the break. DeSales continued their run, scoring the first eight points of the second, to go up 11 (44-33).

Chandler DiFebbo (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) led GM (1-2) with 16 points. Senior
Natasha Matthews (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) added 12 while grabbing a game-high seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs (2-1) kept a double-digit lead for most of the second half. DiFebbo's three-pointer with 2:49 left in the contest made it a 62-54 contest, but DeSales would score on their next five possessions to claim the win.
Gwynedd shot 40.0% (18-45) from the floor but just 2-of-12 from downtown. DeSales was at a 10-for-26 clip from behind the arc. GM outrebounded the Bulldogs, 34-33, but committed 20 turnovers.
Megan Baird led DSU with 20 points as he sank four treys. Leandra Sterner added 15.
The Grififns will open CSAC play on Monday night when they welcome Neumann to the Griffin Complex in a 7 p.m. tip.
