BOX SCORE

SCRANTON, PA. -- Marywood's Ashley Murray scored 41 points as the Pacers handed Gwynedd Mercy a 72-65 Colonial States Athletic Conference defeat Wednesday evening.

Junior Kelsey Yori (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) was one of four players for the Griffins (7-10, 4-4 CSAC) in double figures, netting 13 points. Nicole Dougherty (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) added 12 points and Natasha Matthews (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) and Lauren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) chipped in 10.

Gwynedd built an eight-point halftime lead, but in the second half, the team shot 30% (8-of-26) and only 1-of-10 from downtown as the Pacers opened the stanza with an 18-7 run. GM would take a one-point lead on a free throw from Smith at the midway point of the frame, but Marywood (12-5, 7-2 CSAC) countered with a 10-1 spurt. Murray, whose total is a school record, keyed the run as she scored 31 second-half points and went 11-for-11 from the line.

Dougherty led the rebound charge with eight while Smith added six assists.

The Griffins will look to rebound when they play their third-straight game on the road this Saturday when they take on Keystone.
