ST. DAVIDS, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy yielded a season-high in hits in a 21-4 loss at Eastern on Tuesday.
The Griffins (19-14) led 2-0 after the first on an RBI double from freshman
Mike Marchitto (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern). He would come around and score on an error, but the Eagles would plate seven runs in the third on eight hits.

Rick Elfreth (Washington Twp., N.J./St. Augustine) each had two hits. Senior
Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) tripled and scored twice.
GM used a total of eight pitchers. Starter
Beau Fleming (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) took the loss as the freshman gave up seven runs on nine hits as he lasted into the third.
Tomorrow's scheduled game at Haverford has been cancelled. Gwynedd-Mercy will open a three-game weekend series with Neumann at home on Friday with the #2 playoff seed at stake. The two teams will meet in Aston on Saturday in a doubleheader.
