BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy couldn't overcome a 14-minute scoreless span in the first half in falling to Immaculata on Senior Day on Saturday.

The team took time prior to the game to honor its lone senior in Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) and her parents.

She would total two goals and an assist. Sophomore Dani Horn (Colmar, Pa./North Penn) had a game-high eight points on four goals and two assists. Freshman Danae Perrymond (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) added three second-half goals.

The Griffins (3-9, 2-4 CSAC) were trailing 3-2 on a goal from Gaydosh at the 18:05 mark but did not find the back of the net with 4:04 remaining. Immaculata would net four goals in that span to build a 7-2 lead.

Gaydosh would set up Horn on a tally with under four minutes in the half, but the Mighty Macs added a late score before the end of the stanza to lead 8-4 at the break.

Gwynedd would fight to get within two goals twice in the second, the last coming on Horn's two scores less than a minute apart two-thirds into the period for an 11-9 score.  It would be as close as GM could get as Immaculata scored four of the next five goals, with the final one coming with 3:04 left making it a 15-10 lead.

Sophomore goalie Marina Hubbard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) tried to keep her team in it, making 12 saves.

Danielle Lopez led IU (8-4, 4-1 CSAC) with four goals. Teammate Allison Jakavick added three and a helper and Shannon Neill totaled two scores and two assists. Goalie Nicole Berhndt recorded three saves.

The Griffins resume action on Tuesday in a must-win game at Centenary to keep their playoff hunt alive.
