Rakus scattered five hits with just one walk to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Griffins plated three runs in the third on three hits and an error. Cassano's RBI double in the fourth highlighted a two-run frame. Freshman
David Blount (Croydon, Pa./Harry S. Truman) knocked in a run in the fifth.
It was more than enough for Rakus, who sent down the Gothic Knights (9-6) in order in the first, second, and fifth innings.
NJCU would score their lone run in the ninth, unearned, on an RBI single.
Gwynedd-Mercy (10-6) closes out the week tomorrow with a rescheduled game at Penn State-Abington at noon.
