AUBURNDALE, FL. -- Gwynedd-Mercy downed SUNY-Canton, 9-5, Sunday afternoon to win their third-straight game to start the young season.

The Griffins (3-0) got on the board early thanks to sophomore Greg Brooks (Voorhees, N.J. / St. Joseph's Prep Pa.) with his RBI single in the first inning. Gwynedd would then score a pair of runs in the third, fourth, sixth and ninth to keep the Roos out of reach. Freshman Beau Fleming (Levittown, Pa. / Conwell-Egan) picked up the win for the Griffins in his first collegiate start.

Gwynedd-Mercy is off until Tuesday when they take on Hanover at 1 p.m. at the Chain of Lakes Stadium continuing play at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.
