WINTER HAVEN, FL. -- Gwynedd-Mercy defeated #25 Farmingdale State Saturday afternoon 15-0 and 12-11 to start 2-0 on the young season.
In game one, sophomore
Matt Rakus (Sewell, N.J. / St. Augustine) threw a complete game five-hit shutout for the victory. The Griffins offense came to life in the second inning, scoring 10 runs. Juniors

Dante Cassano (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) and freshman
Christopher Hens (Horsham, Pa. / Hatboro-Horsham) all hit home runs for Gwynedd, with each of them going deep on the first pitch they saw.
Game two saw the Griffins trail 10-3 early but after chipping away, they mounted a five run seventh inning comeback, all with two outs, to take the lead. Sophomore
