LANGHORNE, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Cairn, 85-38, Wednesday night to remain undefeated in Colonial States Athletic Conference League play.

The Griffins (8-5, 4-0 CSAC) placed three scorers in double figures paced by sophomore Shea Wassel (North Wales, Pa. / Lansdale Catholic) with 14 points. Junior Jordan Dominic (Sellersville, Pa. / Pennridge) added 13 and freshman C.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) chipped in 10 off the bench.

Gwynedd used an early 11-0 run capped off by a layup from sophomore Kristen Fuery (Dresher, Pa. / Upper Dublin), putting the Griffins up, 15-4.  The Griffins continued to stretch their lead to 20 when sophomore Natasha Matthews (Norristown, Pa. / Norristown) would make the contest 27-7 with a bucket inside. Gwynedd, who shot over 50% in the stanza, closed out the half on a 10-1 spurt to take a 44-17 lead into the break.

In the second half the Griffins were able to register all eleven Griffins in recording a point to go on and notch the conference win. As a team, GM shot a season-best 49.3% (34-of-69).

The Highlanders (0-9, 0-4 CSAC) were led by Ruth Nelson, who led all scorers with 15 points.

The Griffins return back to action on Saturday, as they host Baptist Bible in a rematch of last year's CSAC Championship game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
