GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Junior Lauren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) netted a career-high 21 points in her return as Gwynedd-Mercy cruised to a 97-57 win over Baptist Bible in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon at the Griffin Complex.

Smith, who was sidelined with an injury in the Griffins' last three games, shot 7-of-12 from the floor including six three-pointers, which was also a personal best.  Sophomore Shea Wassel (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) added 15, while freshmen C.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and Olivia Bradford (Lansdale, Pa./Christopher Dock) chipped in 11 and 10 respectively as Gwynedd remains unblemished in CSAC Play.

Kelly Bargfeldt netted a game-high 22 points for the Defenders (2-11, 2-6 CSAC), who were making their first appearance at the Griffin Complex since last season's conference championship game. Teammate Alyssa Cole added 13 points and Morgan Jones grabbed 11 rebounds for Baptist Bible.

The Griffins connected on 13 three-pointers as a team and had a hand in 32 BBC turnovers which led to 34 points.

GM led 47-28 at halftime.

Gwynedd-Mercy will play at Immaculata on Monday night in CSAC action starting at 6 p.m.
