GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy had season highs in runs and hits in defeating Centenary, 21-2, to win their fourth game in a row and take the three-game series with the Cyclones.

The Griffins pounded out 19 hits and took advantage of eight errors and 11 walks. GM plated three in the first, six in the second, and five in the third and did not look back.

Senior Kevin Smeraglio (Newtown, Pa./Holy Ghost) collected his third four-hit game of the season while reaching base safely in all six-at bats. He drove in three runs, scored twice, and walked two times.

Ryan Downs (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) also had four hits, as the freshman added three runs and two RBIs.

Starter Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) fanned three with two walks while allowing just two hits to pick up his second win on the season. A trio of relievers scattered one run on three hits with five strikeouts over the final five innings to help nail it down.

Anthony DeSomma had two hits, two walks, and a run scored for the Cyclones (10-17, 5-7 CSAC).

Gwynedd (13-14) welcome Rutgers-Camden tomorrow in a non-league matchup starting at 3:30 p.m.
