BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Eastern handed Gwynedd-Mercy its third loss in a row as the Griffins fell, 10-5, in the regular-season finale Thursday night.

The Griffins (7-9) now turn their attention to Saturday's CSAC Tournament First-Round Game against Notre Dame and the opportunity to defend their championship from a year ago.

Senior Morgan Hosler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) had two of the team's five goals. Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) added a score and an assist for Gwynedd.

Kendall Rood and Jocelyn Paul netted three goals apiece for the Eagles (7-9). Eastern scored the game's first four goals.

It wasn't until the 13:28 mark of the first before Hosler got the Griffins on the board. Paul's two goals, sandwiched around a tally from senior Shannon Carabba (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield) accounted for the scoring in the stanza with Eastern leading, 6-2 at the half.

Gwynedd came out firing two minutes into the second, as goals from Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) just 12 seconds apart looked to give GM some life.

Hosler's second goal came with 18:55 left, but it would be the last score for the rest of the game for GM.

The Griffins outshot Eastern, 24-23, but also hit the post on three occasions.

Goalie Marina Hubbard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) made nine saves. The tandem of Lindsey Corbitt and Kristy Getsay combined to make nine stops as well.
