RADNOR, PA. – Cabrini handed Gwynedd-Mercy a 21-18 defeat in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup, snapping the Griffin's five-game win streak.

Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) scored a career-high six goals for Gwynedd (7-7, 5-3 CSAC) but it was the Cavaliers who broke open an 8-8 halftime tie with six-straight goals to start the second in which GM couldn't recover from.

Shannon Carabba (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield) and Morgan Hosler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) each had four goals and an assist. The Griffins can finish either as a #3 or #4 seed depending on the outcome of the regular season and will host a first-round playoff game next Saturday.

Gwynedd held an early three-goal lead but saw Cabrini (7-8, 7-1 CSAC) battle back. The Cavs netted two scores in the final 1:28 of the period to knot it at 8-8 at the break.

Lacie Doubet scored five of her game-high seven goals in the second half. One of those capped a six-goal burst over a 7:27 span to start the stanza. After Carabba netted a tally with 18:01 left to pull within four (15-11), Doubet netted three of the next four goals to increase the lead to eight.

GM scored five-straight to close out the game, the last coming with 44 seconds to make it 21-18, but ran out of time to rally.

Goalie Marina Hubbard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) made 16 saves, a season-high, as she was peppered with 55 shots, also a season-high.

The Griffins will close out the regular season next week with two games. First up is a matchup at Goucher on Tuesday, followed by a home date with Eastern on Thursday.
