LANGHORNE, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy picked up a pair of wins in defeating Philadelphia Biblical in a CSAC twinbill Saturday afternoon. GM won game one, 24-6, and the second, 20-1, to sweep the weekend series.
In game one, the Griffins scored seven runs in each the second and third to erase a one-run deficit. Junior
Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) drove in six runs while going 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Freshman
Rick Elfreth (Sicklerville, N.J./St. Augustine) added a pair of RBI triples.

Andrew Schaefer (Penndel, Pa./Conwell-Egan) and
Ryan Haley (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) all had three RBI's each.
Game two was much of the same, as GM (20-15, 9-6 CSAC) plated eight in the second and four in the third to take a commanding lead.
Freshman
Ryan Downs (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) smacked a three-run homerun and added an RBI sac fly and sophomore
Mike Thomas (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell-Egan) each drove in four runs apiece.
Sophomore
John Burns (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) added three hits and senior
Tom Mackey (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) added a solo homer.
Elfreth was on the mound in game two, fanning seven over five innings, allowing one earned run on three hits.
The Griffins are back at it on Tuesday when they face Eastern in non-league action at 4 p.m.
