CHESTER, PA. – Freshman Kelsey Yori (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) scored seven goals but it wasn't enough as the Griffins fell at Widener, 19-13, Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) added four goals, but the Griffins (2-6) could not rally from a 7-0 deficit in the first half.

Julia Costello netted six tallies for the Pride (3-3). Widener scored the seven goals over the first 15 minutes of the game.

The Griffins managed to get it to 9-6 at the half.

Seniors Kirstyn Varas (Essington, Pa./Interboro) and Shannon Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) also scored for GM.

Gwynedd outshot Widener, 43-34, and had seven more groundballs (21-14).

The Griffins host Arcadia on Thursday in non-league action starting at 4 p.m.
