LAPLUME, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy lost a CSAC Doubleheader at #14 Keystone on Saturday, falling in game one, 4-0, and the second, 4-3 as the Giants take the weekend series and stretch the Griffins' winless streak to seven games.

In game one, Gwynedd was held to three hits by KC starter Blaine O'Brien, who struck out eight with one walk in six innings.

Keystone got a run in the first and three more in the second off GM starter Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan).

The Griffins looked to get back in it in the fourth, loading the bases with one out. O'Brien ended the threat with back-to-back strikeouts.

Sinon, who fanned four and yielded four runs on eight hits, allowed just one baserunner in the final three innings to try to keep his team within striking distance.

Game two saw the Griffins take a 3-2 lead into the seventh before the Giants plated two runs including a walk-off RBI single from Andrew Siano, who hurt the Griffins on Friday with a eighth-inning grand slam, to win it.

Keystone led 2-0 after two before an RBI groundout from junior Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) in the third cut the deficit in half. GM took advantage of two errors in the fifth to score twice and take a 3-2 lead.

Senior Kevin Smeraglio (Newtown, Pa./Holy Ghost) went 1-for-4 with two runs scored. Sophomore John Burns (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) was 2-for-4.

Starter John Barrington (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) suffered the loss, scattering four runs (three earned) on just four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Gwynedd-Mercy travels to #12 Rowan on Tuesday for a non-league tilt starting at 3:30 p.m.
