true 4 The Griffins competed in the RussMatt Baseball Invitational in the Central Florida area over spring break and compiled a 6-2 record over the course of the trip. Gwynedd ended the trip with five-straight victories, including one over a nationally-ranked opponent.

winning game one, 16-6, and
losing game two, 14-4. Freshman

Shane Lynch (Marlton, N.J. / Cherokee) led Gwynedd with a four-RBI performance in game one and collected four hits over the two games.

fell Sunday night to St. John Fisher, 10-5, under the lights at Chain of Lakes Stadium. Junior
Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa. / St. Pius X) paced Gwynedd with a three hits and swiped three bases. Junior
Brian Susten (Philadelphia, Pa. / Northeast) added a two-run homerun.
On Tuesday, freshman
Jamey Minnemeyer (Lansdale, Pa. / Lansdale Catholic) produced a seven-inning, five-strikeout complete game performance
in game one against Penn State-Altoona. The Griffins won, 8-1, to help Minnemeyer pick up his first collegiate win. In the second game, sophomore
Andrew Schafer (Penndel, Pa. / Conwell-Egan) led Gwynedd on the mound to
an 8-4 victory to sweep the doubleheader. Sophomores
John Salvatore (Philadelphia, Pa. / Holy Ghost) and
Josh Van Horn (Brookhaven, Pa. / Monsignor Bonner) added two RBI's apiece in game two.
Gwynedd defeated 24th-ranked Cortland State, 11-9, on Wednesday. Freshman
Ryan Downs (Holland, Pa. / Council Rock South) picked up the win and senior
Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa. / Conwell-Egan) threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up the save. Trailing 8-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Griffins exploded for eight runs over the next two innings: three in the seventh and five in the eighth to secure the victory. Sophomore
Dante Cassano (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) went 2-for-4 on the day and drove in two runs.
The Griffins swept Mount Aloysius Friday to close out the trip,
winning game one, 7-0, and
game two, 8-3. Sinon threw a seven-inning gem in game one going the distance. He gave up zero runs and only allowed three hits. During game two, freshman
Sean Muscovitch (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. The Griffins tallied twenty hits on the day capped by sophomore
John Burns (Levittown, Pa. / Neshaminy), who connected on his third home run this season.
The club returns to Pennsylvania for four games this upcoming week hosting Haverford on Wednesday and Penn State-Abington on Friday. Saturday will see the Griffins travel to Misericordia for a doubleheader.
