HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Centenary Wednesday night in a CSAC matchup that saw the Griffins come away with the 93-79 victory. Gwynedd had six players score in double figures led by senior
Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) who led all scorers with 22 points, six assists and six steals.
Gwynedd (12-8, 7-6 CSAC) shot 49.2% (32-of-65) from the field, including a 58.6 (17-of-29) in the decisive second half. The team knocked down six three-pointers and made 17-of-25 tries from the line in the second stanza.

Frank Champion (Northfield, N.J./Mainland) added a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds and frontcourt mate
Brandon Sharp (Hammonton, N.J./St. Joseph) scored sixteen and pulled down nine caroms and added five assists. Rookie
Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) scored eleven and
Doug Berzins (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) and
Tom McKeefery (North Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) both chipped in ten respectfully.
The Griffin defense forced twenty nine centenary turnovers holding The Cyclones (10-11, 6-8 CSAC) to 41.1% (23-of-56) shooting. Warren Murphy led Centenary with twenty points. Max Hughes added eighteen, Andy Charles and Larry Lenahan chipped in 15 and 10 respectively.
Gwynedd-Mercy turned a four-point halftime lead into a 14-point cushion early in the second. The Cyclones would get as close as seven with 7:57 remaining but Champion converted on a three-point play on the next possession to restore a double-digit lead in which they would hold to the rest of the way.
The Griffins will return home Saturday to host CSAC rival Immaculata as part of a doubleheader with the women in a 4 p.m. tip-off.
