GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy will make its third-straight appearance in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship game after a wild 14-12 win over Cabrini in a semifinal matchup Wednesday evening.

Senior goalie Trisha Timony (Allentown, N.J./Allentown), the 2011 CSAC Player of the Year, lived up to the billing, posting a season-high 20 saves, 12 of which came in the second half.

Junior Shannon Carabba (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield) paced the offense with five goals. Colleen Dellostretto (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland), Kristie Pollock (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Kirsten Walther (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) each added two scores as the Griffins held off the Cavaliers in a tight contest.

Jamie O'Hanlon led Cabrini with six goale. Teammate Gabrielle Gorbey added three with an assist.

The Griffins (10-7) came out on fire in the game's first 10 minutes, as goals from Carabba, Walther, Carabba again, and Morgan Hosler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) put GM up 4-0.

Cabrini hung tough, and never trailed by more than four goals in the stanza. O'Hanlon would find the back of the net with 22 seconds before halftime to make it an 8-5 contest.

Dellostretto opened the second half with her second tally 2:59 in the period and minutes later set up Kirstyn Varas (Essington, Pa./Interboro) to give GM 10-5 edge. The Cavaliers answered with three tallies in just over a minute to pull within two.

Carabba netted her third tally with 11:59 left as her shot hit Cabrini keeper Janel Folkomer and trickled in behind her.

Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), who had a game-high three assists, hooked up with Walther for a 13-10 lead with 4:24 remaining.

O'Hanlon tried to pull Cabrini back in it, netting two unassisted scores to make it a one-goal game, the latter coming with 1:11.

On the ensuing faceoff though, Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) iced it with a breakaway goal to help restore a two-goal lead.
