BOYERTOWN, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy's bid for a fifth league title came up short as the Griffins fell to Keystone, 6-3, in the CSAC Championship Game on Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins (18-16-1) had trouble generating offense, collecting just one hit through seven innings. They would try to jump ahead early getting runners in scoring position with two outs, but were unable to get a run home.

Keystone (32-10) plated runs in the second, fourth, fifth, and led 5-0 until rain delayed the game in the top of the sixth an hour and half, bringing in new pitchers for both teams.

Junior R.J. Finizio (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) suffered the loss, throwing into the fifth. KC starter Jeff Frost fanned seven while allowing just one hit.

Gwynedd gave it a late push in the eighth, scoring three runs .Senior Colin Tosti (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy)  put GM on the board with an RBI double. He would score on a two-bagger from Austin Ley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East). Senior Jay Sechowicz (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) followed with an RBI single to plate Ley, cutting the deficit to 6-3. After a stolen base and a walk, KC's Adam Krebs came on and got Todd Budweg (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) to strikeout to end the threat.

In the ninth, Keystone retired the side in order to give Keystone its third-straight conference championship.

Budweg and junior Derek Apsche (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) had the other hits for GM.

Roberto Santana was named MVP after going 2-for-5 with an RBI double.
