GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy stepped on the gas to open the second half, scoring six-straight goals to go on and defeat Immaculata, 19-8, for the Griffins' sixth win in a row.

Kristi Mackin (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) and junior
Shannon Carabba (Erdenheim, Pa./Springfield) each netted four goals to lead GM.
The Griffins (8-3, 5-0 CSAC) led 7-3 at halftime and used a six-goal scoring spree to stay unbeaten in conference play and inch closer to a playoff spot.
Goalie
Trisha Timony (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) made 15 saves in net. GM would outshot IU, 36-30. Brittany Worthington recorded 11 saves for Immaculata.
Katie Cook and Kelly Kugler netted two scores each as the Mighty Macs (3-8, 1-3 CSAC) would net four-straight in the second to get within 13-7 midway in the stanza. Gwynedd would pull away for good with five in a row in a five minute span.
Kristie Pollock (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville),
Morgan Hosler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata),
Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy),
Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), and
Kirsten Walther (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) all scored two goals apiece.
Carabba also dished out three assists while Gaydosh had two.
The Griffins return to action on Thursday night when they entertain Kean in a non-league matchup starting at 7 p.m.
