SCRANTON, PA. -- Junior Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) threw a one-hit shutout in game one to highlight a doubleheader split at Marywood on Saturday. Gwynedd took game one, 6-0, but fell in the second, 5-1.

Sinon took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, before yielding a lead-off single. He would strikeout five while walking just two for his second victory on the season.

Senior Colin Tosti (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) drove in a pair of runs while sophomore Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) had three hits, two runs, and a stolen base.

It was more than enough for Sinon, who at one point retired 12-straight batters. He also received some defesive help. After a one-out walk in the sixth, the Griffins ended the inning on a line out to center, where CF Kevin Smeraglio (Newtown, Pa./Holy Ghost) was able to throw back to first to force a double play.  Also in the seventh after the lead-off single, senior Austin Ley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) made a spectacular catch at the fence for the second out.

In game two, the Griffins limited Marywood to just three hits, but three errors and 11 walks helped tp enable the Pacers. Marywood this time got on the board early, plating three runs in the first off of starter John Barrington (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman).  MU would lead 5-0 after the fourth.

Senior Steve Sable (Ivyland, Pa./Holy Ghost) accounted for the Griffins' only run, using a sac fly in the fifth to score freshman John Burns (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy).

Burns finished 2-for-2 on the day with a pair of doubles.
