Women's Lax Drops Fourth Straight

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Centenary defeated Gwynedd-Mercy on Wednesday, 16-10, to send the Griffins to their fourth-straight defeat.

The loss also knocks Gwynedd down to the the #3 playoff seed where they'll host a quarterfinal game on Saturday, April 30th.

Kristie Pollock (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville), Kirsten Walther (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), Jenna D'Arcy (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), and Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) each scored two goals apiece but the Griffins again for the third game in a row had their offense go silent in the second half.

Centenary's Allie Swartz scored five goals to lead all scorers. Her tally with 21 minutes to go in the second half broke an 8-8 tie which led to eight-straight Cyclone goals.

Walther and Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) had the two assists for GM.

Meredith Bruce and Danielle Bay added three goals each for the Cyclones.

Gwynedd will close out the regular season on Monday when they play at Cedar Crest starting at 4 p.m.
