GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Keystone took two from Gwynedd-Mercy on Sunday in a CSAC twinbill, winning game one, 6-4, and the second, 15-0.

In game one, the Griffins were held to five hits but kept pace with the Giants in a close 6-4 defeat. Senior Austin Ley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and two stolen bases. His RBI single in the third made it a 3-2 KC lead.

Keystone plated two in the fourth on just one hit, but two errors and a walk helped give the Giants a 5-2 edge. Andy Vega's solo homer in the sixth made it 6-2. Ley drove in his second run on the day in the bottom of the frame for a three-run deficit.

In the sixth, the Griffins (6-11-1, 3-3 CSAC) tried to rally, getting runners on the corners with one out. Freshman Shane Lynch (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) then hit a grounder to first, but KC 1B's Frank Mormino's throw to second sailed into left, allowing one run to score and advancing the runners to second and third. After a two-out walk to load the bases, GM had their good scoring chance end with a grounder to second.

Starter Andrew Ball (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) went six-plus innings allowing four earned runs on 10 hits, with three walks and two K's. KC hurler Blaine O'Brien struck out seven over 5.1 innings.

Game two saw the Giants (14-8, 7-1 CSAC) score two in the first and six in the second  to chase out starter Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan).

The Giants' Rob Rodgers tossed five innings of no-hit ball before a single from freshman Joe Martin (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) led off the sixth. In all GM collected two hits in game two.

The Griffins comitted seven errors. Sinon was charged with three earned runs on seven hits.

Keystone had seven extra-base hits including three homeruns.

Gwynedd is back in action on Wednesday when they play a non-league game at the College of New Jersey beginning at 3:30 p.m.
