IMMACULATA, PA. -- Junior Andrew Sinon (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) tossed a one-hit complete game shutout in game one to highlight Gwynedd-Mercy's CSAC sweep of Immaculata on Saturday.

Sinon struck out seven and allowed one walk as the Griffins scored three runs in the top of the seventh in a 3-0 win in game one.

Game two saw senior Mike Albert (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) go 4-for-4 as GM held on for a 9-8 win.

Albert's RBI single in the top of the seventh in game one was part of a three-run frame. Sophomore Brian Susten (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) also added an RBI base hit.

Sinon cruised through the first four innings, retiring the side in each frame. Susten also added a double in game one, going 2-for-3.

In game two, Gwynedd (4-7, 2-0 CSAC) took advantage of four Immaculata errors to build a 6-1 lead after four innings.

The Mighty Macs (3-7, 0-2 CSAC) would tack on five runs on starter John Barrington (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) with the key hit a grand slam off the bat of Matt Bolden.

GM would plate three in the six using just one hit as two walks, a hit by pitch, and two IU errors led broke the 6-6 tie.

In the seventh, Immaculata made it interesting with two runs as Bolden added an RBI sac fly to cut it to 9-8. Freshman Luis Martinez (Sinking Spring, Pa./Conrad Weiser), who came on for Barrington in the bottom of the sixth, earned the two-inning save.

Gwynedd-Mercy will look to sweep the season series on Tuesday when GM and IU play the rubber game at 3 p.m.
