HAVERFORD, PA. -- Senior Austin Ley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead Gwynedd-Mercy to a 10-4 win at Haverford, handing the Fords their first loss on the year.

Junior R.J. Finizio (Maple Shade, N.J./Maple Shade) scattered two runs on five hits over six-plus innings while striking out three to pick up his second win on the season.

Sophomore Brian Susten (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) smacked a solo home run as part of a 14-hit attack. Ley's RBI single in the third gave the Griffins (2-7) a 4-1 lead.

It was later 7-3 going into the ninth before Gwynedd plated three insurance runs as GM took advantage of a Haverford error while Ley and junior Todd Budweg (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) drove in a run apiece for a six-run edge.

Budweg had two RBIs on the day while sophomore Josh Martin (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one knocked in.

The Griffins will host a non-league doubleheader on Saturday against Misericordia starting at noon.
