RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy fell in the finals of the CSAC Tournament in a 92-70 defeat at Cabrini Friday night.

Senior Jon Crabtree (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) led the Griffins (21-6) with 21 points while Jon Hogga (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) added 18 points and 19 rebounds, but Gwynedd couldn't catch up to the Cavaliers.

MVP Corey Lemons paced all scorers with 33 points as Cabrini (22-5) shot 50% from the floor including 14 three-pointers on the night.

Gwynedd would try to trade buckets early on, taking a six-point edge as Crabtree kissed an alley oop pass off the glass from Hogga for a 15-9 lead with six minutes into the game. Crabtree would hit the Griffin's only trey of the half as shooting troubles from downtown slowed the GM offense to a crawl. For the stanza, the Griffins were 29% shooting including a 1-for-14 effort from beyond the arc.

Lemons scored 14 of his points in the first half as the deficit would reach 20. Gwynedd trailed at the break, 43-25.

Fran Rafferty and John Boyd each added 18 for the Cavaliers who won their second-straight CSAC title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Junior Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) added 12 for GM, who were making their fifth title-game appearance.

After residing in the NCAA Regional Rankings for most of the season, Gwynedd will hope for an at-large bid to the Division III Tournament. Selections will be made Sunday night with the pairings released on Monday afternoon. Stay tuned to the GMC Athletic Website for updates.
