GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy shined on both sides of the ball Monday night on the way to a 90-44 CSAC victory over Keystone College.
Senior
Kristy McGrath (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) led the Griffins (11-6, 7-2 C
SAC) with a game-high 20 points. McGrath also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
The Griffin defense held the Giants (4-15, 4-6 CSAC) to just a 11-for-46 stint in the game, while the GM offense shot 51% for the contest. Gwynedd relied on their outside shooting with six different players registering at least one three-pointer for a total of 13 threes on the night.
Freshman
Jordan Dominic (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) connected 5 times from beyond the arc and finished with 17 of Gwynedd's 46 points off the bench. Freshman
Taylour Alston (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and sophomore
Rebecca Washco (
Folcroft, Pa./Archbishop Prendergast) added 10 and 8 points respectively.
Jazmine Harris led the Giants with 10 points off the bench and Tiana Cuttino added nine points in the loss.
Gwynedd shared the ball the entire night finishing with 29 assists. The defense pressured the Giants all night and was able to come up with eight steals and a season-high five blocks, including three by Alston.
The win improves the Griffins to 7-2 in conference play. They will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Marywood for a game beginning at 6 p.m.
