BALTIMORE -- Gwyned-Mercy posted their third win in a row as the Griffins soared past the College of Notre Dame, 96-37, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game Monday night.
GM, who shot 54% for the contest, had five players in double figures, led by junior Theresa Griffin (Newtown, Pa./Conwell-Egan) with 14 points off the bench. Junior Bryn Cotteta (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) added 13 points with a career-high seven assists as the Griffins surpassed their highest point total of the season.
Gwynedd hit nine of their 13 three-pointers on the night in the first half, running off to a 13-point early lead. The Gators (3-13, 0-7 CSAC) would pull within nine midway through the stanza. The Griffins then hit the gas pedal to pull away from Notre Dame, outscoring CND, 35-11, to close the stanza and lead 54-21 at the break.
India Scott led the Gators with 11 points and six boards while teammate Katherine Subrizi added 10 points.
The Griffins (10-5, 6-1 CSAC) return to action on Thursday as they welcome Immaculata to the Griffin Complex in CSAC action beginning at 6 p.m.
