Jon Hogga (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) scored a career-high 28 points, but Keystone came out on top in an 84-64 CSAC win over the Griffins Monday night.
Hogga added nine rebounds while sophomore
Frank Champion (Northfield, N.J./Mainland) chipped in 11 points as the Griffins, despite shooting 40% for the game, saw the Giants shoot 51% from the floor in the conference loss.
Tercel Taylor was one of four Giants in double digits, totaling 21 points. Mike Kelly added 19 points and 12 rebounds and Kenneth Hardnett recorded17 points and 10 caroms.
Gwynedd (7-4, 2-2 CSAC) could not keep pace with the longball in the first half, as Keystone hit eight in the stanza, including three in three consecutive possessions to turn a one-point Giant lead into a 21-11 edge. KC would close out the first 20 minutes on a 14-3 run to lead 42-23 at the half.
Keystone (8-2, 2-2 CSAC) would hit for nine three-pointers total on the evening, while GM was good for 4-of-16 .
In the second half, the Griffins could only get within 10 points on a jumper in the paint from Champion midway through the stanza.
With his 28 points, Hogga now stands at 999 career points.
The Griffins will host Marywood on Thursday at 7 p.m. in CSAC action here at the Griffin Complex.
