YORK, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy could not recover from a 21-4 run in the first half by York as the Spartans went on for an 81-64 win over the Griffins Monday night in non-conference action.

Senior Jon Crabtree (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) led all scorers with 21 points while adding six rebounds and six assists.

The Griffins went two minutes without a bucket, in which a one-point lead turned into a 12-point deficit.

Julian Watson, who had 15 points for the Spartans, had nine-straight points during the scoring stretch to put GM in a 23-11 hole with 11:45 in the first half. Gwynedd pulled to within eight with just under two minutes left before back-to-back three-pointers from Jeremy Skoloda to end the stanza put York up 42-28 at the break.

Senior Jon Hogga (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) chipped in 14 points and seven boards as Gwynedd (6-3) had their three-game win streak snapped.

Skoloda finished with nine points while Kevin Whaley had 16 and Dylan Hoffman added 12 for York (7-3).

GM shot just 37% (23-of-62) and turned the ball over 16 times which led to 17 Spartan points.

Gwynedd-Mercy plays its last game before the holiday break next Monday, December 20^th at Widener beginning at 7 p.m.
