GLASSBORO, N.J. – Tournament MVP Jon Crabtree (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) helped lead Gwynedd-Mercy in the title game of the Heritage's Dairy Stores Classic hosted by Rowan University as the Griffins posted an 86-82 win over the host Profs Saturday afternoon.

Crabtree was one of four Griffins in double figures finishing with 12 points to lead GM (5-2), who won their third game in a row.  Junior Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon), who also was named to the all-tournament team, poured in 21 points and six assists.

Sophomore Frank Champion (Northfield, N.J./Mainland) had career highs of 21 points and 16 rebounds while freshman Brandyn Wims (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) chipped in 12.

Sean Hughes had 19 for the Profs (4-6), who led 44-38 at the break and for nine minutes of the second half. GM used a 13-2 run midway in the stanza to erase their biggest deficit of the contest, but the teams stayed neck-and-neck.

Hughes layup gave Rowan its last lead of the game with 8:32 left before Jon Hogga (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville)the go-ahead three-pointer to give Gwynedd the lead for good.

Rowan pulled within two with 13 ticks left, but Crabtree would help ice it by hitting two free throws on the next possession for a four-point lead.

GM hit on 56% of its shots (32-of-57) while outrebounding the Profs, 37-33.

Gwynedd-Mercy returns to action on Monday when they travel to York College in non-league action in an 8 p.m. start.
