Gwynedd-Mercy 80, Rosemont 64

ROSEMONT, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy had four players in double figures in an 80-64 win at Rosemont in the team's Colonial States Athletic Conference opener on Monday. 

Senior Kristy McGrath (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) paced the Griffins with 13 points and snared five rebounds. Freshman Nicole Dougherty (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) added 12 as the Griffins (3-1, 1-0 CSAC) led from start to finish in their league opener.

GM led by as much as 16 late in the first half before Rosemont closed to a 38-28 Griffin lead at halftime.

Ashley Montecchio led the Ravens (0-4, 0-1 CSAC) with a game-high 24 points.

Gwynedd shot 48% (30-of-62) for the game and held a 36-33 rebound edge.

Senior Stacey Judge (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) and junior Brittany Neill (Woodlyn, Pa./Archmere Academy Del.) each added 10 points while junior Bryn Cotteta (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) handed out a career-best nine assists.

The Griffins are right back at on Thursday when they clash with Cabrini in Radnor, Pa. starting at 6 p.m.
