Steve Barczyk joined the Gwynedd Mercy University women's volleyball staff as an assistant prior to the 2026 season. The founder of the youth volleyball program at St. Aloysius Parish School (2021-2025) in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Coach Barczyk is also a member of the coaching staff at the Highline Volleyball Club (2024-present) in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

After founding the youth program at St. Aloysius, Barczyk remained on as the head coach for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) fifth and sixth grade teams for the 2021 season. In the subsequent year, he served as an assistant for the fifth and sixth grade (2022-2023) team before head coaching the seventh and eighth grade (2022-2025) team. At Highline Volleyball Club, Barczyk has functioned as an assistant coach for the 11-Pink (2024-2025) and 18-Pink (2024-2026) teams, as well as a head coach for the 18-Green (2025-2026) team. He is double-goal certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and is a Bronze Team level coach through United States of America (USA) Volleyball.

Outside of volleyball, Barczyk is employed as a master dispatcher at PJM Interconnection (2020-present). He previously held positions as an operations shift supervisor with the Exelon Corporation (2008-2020) and a chief petty officer with the United States Navy (1998-2008).
