Brian Ray

Entering his first year on coaching staff for the Griffins, Brian Ray comes to Gwynedd Mercy with a diverse background in coaching. Ray played his collegiate lacrosse at Alvernia University where he was a three-year captain. Playing midfield, Ray led the crusaders in goals, assists, and points his junior and senior seasons. He sits among the leaders of career points, goals, assists in the Alvernia Record books in just three years of play. 

Ray began his coaching career at Division II Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina. In Rays time, he coached face off personnel, and assisted with the offense. Ray coached Conference Carolina All Tournament Team face off specialist Khalid Stukes, and two All Americans at Pfeiffer on their way to being ranked as high #6 in Division II. Ray also coached two eventual NLL 1st draft picks in Mike Triolo and Robert Hope.

After Pfeiffer, Ray moved on to CSAC opponent Marywood University as he coached the face-off specialists, goalies, and defense. In 2015, Ray oversaw goalie Joe Magargal who ranked second in save percentage in all of Division III as the Pacers reached the conference finals.

Ray a native of Cranford, N.J.  is a head coach for the travel lacrosse club team, Building Blocks Lacrosse, out of Madison, N.J. in the summers.
