Richie Dunham '20 joined the Gwynedd Mercy University men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2024-2025 season. Dunham began his coaching career in 2021 as head junior varsity girls’ basketball coach at Pope John Paul II High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He also served as an assistant on the boys’ varsity team during the 2023-2024 campaign.
 
Prior to his coaching appointments at Pope John Paul, Dunham played professionally for Ireland Basketball’s Killarney Cougars (2021) and Tralee Warriors (2022). Collegiately, Dunham stands as Gwynedd Mercy University’s all-time leader in free throws made (1st, 350) and steals (1st, 218), while ranking among the program’s Top-5 all-time in three-point percentage (2nd, .418 3PT%), free throw percentage (2nd, .839 FT%), points (3rd, 1,605), assists (3rd, 384), field goals made (3rd, 551 FGM), field goals attempted (4th, 1,090 FGA), free throw attempts (5th, 417 FTA), points per game (5th, 14.3 PPG), and three-pointers made (T5th, 153 3PT). He was the 2016-2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Rookie of the Year and earned All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) First Team selections in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 while leading the Griffins on respective runs to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men’s Basketball Championship Tournaments.
 
He currently resides in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
