Nick Horvath is entering his second season as an assistant with the Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Basketball Team. Prior to Gwynedd Mercy, Coach Horvath most recently worked at East Coast Power AAU, coaching the elite U17 boys team along with Devon Prep’s head coach Jason Fisher. His team was made up of players like Princeton commit Konrad Kiszka, Syracuse commit John Bol Ajak, Division I guard Sean Yoder, and Division II guard David Duda. In addition to coaching AAU, he was an assistant coach at Bryn Mawr College during the 2016-2017 season.
Coach Horvath focus is with film analysis, recruiting, player development with an emphasis on shooting and defense.
A 2004 graduate of Temple University, Horvath earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Social Studies and also holds a certification in Special Education and a master’s degree in Multicultural Education.
Outside of basketball, Coach Horvath has his own personal agility and basketball training company called Elite 8 Basketball. He also works with the Villanova Women’s Basketball team running summer camps each year. Horvath has coached overseas in Goodwill Games, as well as Basketball Without Borders programs. In 2009, coach Horvath traveled to Austria and had the privilege to work with legendary Hall of Fame coach Rollie Massimino.
Horvath resides in Bryn Mawr, Pa. with his wife Kim, son Jaidon, and daughter Ayrianna. He works as a high school history teacher at Methacton High School in Eagleville, Pa.
