Jheron Dawson-Johnson joined the Gwynedd Mercy University men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2025-2026 season. He most recently served as head coach for the 2023-2024 Community College of Philadelphia women’s basketball team.
Coach Dawson-Johnson spent four years (2015-2019) as a student-athlete Penn State Wilkes-Barre under Head Coach Leshawn Hammett. There, he helped lead the Nittany Lions to a pair of Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) (2017-2018, 2018-2019) and a pair of United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament appearances in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, while establishing himself as the program’s all-time leader in wins (64) as a player. He finished his collegiate career with 491 points (4.4/game), 227 rebounds (2.0/game), 216 assists (1.9/game), 95 steals (.86/game), and six blocks (.05/game).
