Ben Ostrow joined the Gwynedd Mercy University men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant and video coordinator prior to the start of the 2023-2024 season. Coach Ostrow joins the Griffins after four seasons as a student manager with the Lynn University men's basketball program. After two seasons as the Fighting Knight’s head student manager, Coach Ostrow was promoted to the men’s basketball team’s director of basketball operations.
At Lynn University, Coach Ostrow was responsible for the breakdown and transfer of all game and practice film, assisting the coaching staff in creating and implementing scouting reports and gameplans for all opponents, creating digital playbooks, assisting in player development and recruiting. He also oversaw practice and gameday management as well as supervising a team of five student managers.
Coach Ostrow is also contributor to Slappin’ Glass, a podcast and newsletter which explores basketball’s best strategies, ideas, and coaches. With Slappin’ Glass, Ben does video analysis for their weekly newsletter as well as creates exclusive “Deep Dive” video breakdowns for Slappin’ Glass Plus subscribers. In the summer of 2023, Ostrow worked with coaches Steve D’Agostino and Justin Cooper as a skill development intern for RocNation Sports NBA Pre-Draft Workouts including NBA players: Ron Harper Jr. and Andre Jackson Jr., as well as highly regarded prospects: Elliot Cadeau, Dylan Harper, and Tahaad Pettiford.
During the summer of 2022, Coach Ostrow worked with coach Kam Law as a skill development intern for A11 Sports NBA Pre-Draft Workouts including NBA players: Bruno Caboclo, Gui Santos, DiDi Louzada, and Cristiano Felicio, as well as highly regarded prospects: Yannick Kraag, Reynan dos Santos, Samis Calderon, and Eduardo Klafke. He also spent multiple years as an assistant coach for AllBall, a South Florida based travel basketball team on the Under Armour Circuit. With AllBall, Ben was responsible for scouting, recruiting, implementing offensive plays, and assisting in player development for their 2025 team. In the summer of 2022, Ben helped lead AllBall to second place in UA Rise 15u which earned the team an invitation to UAA for 2023.
Ostrow graduated Cum Laude from Lynn University in May of 2023 with a degree in sports management.
