Lebanon, Pa. – (9/5/2026) – The Gwynedd Mercy University cross country season got underway today, Saturday, September 5, as the Griffins placed eighth in a 10-team field with 240 points in Lebanon Valley College's Dutchmen Invitational. Freshman Hailee Dicks (Collingswood, N.J.) was the first Griffin across the finish line as she completed the five kilometer (5K) course in just under 22 minutes (48^th, 21:55.2), while her fellow Red and Gold first-year Cara Mott (Philadelphia, Pa) finished just over the minute marker for 51^st place (51^st, 22:02.0). Millersville University (1^st of 10, 23 points) won the event and offered the individual champion in sophomore Kira Chebishev (Boonton, N.J.) who ran a 19:23.8.
 
The Gwynedd Mercy University women's cross country team competes next on Saturday, September 19, when they travel to Center Valley, Pennsylvania, for the DeSales University Invitational (10:15 a.m.).
