Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (9/12/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (0-4) hosted Albright College (1-3) for this afternoon's contest. An early Lion goal was the difference – 1-0 (4:00) - in a highly competitively affair that saw the Red and Gold own an 8-7 penalty corner advantage and put nine of their 11 shots on goal.
Griffins Highlights
- Gwynedd Mercy University was stout after the early tally and generated some great chances late in the first quarter. Sophomore forward Gianna Radcliffe (Harleysville, Pa.) inserted the first penalty corner of the contest at 11:27 and the period ended with back-to-back Griffin shots from Radcliffe (14:08) and junior forward Allyssa Seifert (Philadelphia, Pa.) (14:30).
- The Gwynedd Mercy University pressure continued at the beginning of the second quarter with two more penalty corners (21:28, 21:42), a couple shots (21:30, 25:40), and a penalty stroke later from senior defender Lillie Uttenreither (Bel Air, Md.) (26:02).
- After halftime, Albright College controlled the tempo with a 7-1 shot advantage. But the Red and Gold was back on the hunt in the fourth quarter as they created several scoring opportunities between the 53rd and 56th minute markers.
- Radcliffe led Gwynedd Mercy University with four shots on goal. She looked to connect with Seifert in the offensive zone; the latter put both of her shots on the Lion goal as well.
- Junior goalkeeper Kelly Weaver (Flemington, N.J.) recorded six saves in the loss (0-3).
