Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (4/27/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (19-16) welcomed Rosemont University (8-24) to Frank O. Genuardi Legends Field. After a rainout on Saturday, both teams came together on Sunday to battle one another. In game one, a dominant stretch in the middle innings powered the Griffins past Rosemont College, erupting for nine runs across the second and third innings en route to an 11–2 victory. Gwynedd Mercy capped off a dominant doubleheader performance with a commanding 13–0 victory over the Ravens in game two, combining explosive offense with a near-shutout pitching effort at Genuardi Legends Field.

Game One:
- After conceding an early run, the Griffins answered quickly in the second inning. Senior infielder Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.) delivered a clutch two runs-batted-in (RBI) single to give Gwynedd Mercy its first lead (2-1), capitalizing on hit-by-pitches and aggressive baserunning to swing momentum.
- Gwynedd Mercy broke the game open in the third with a five-run inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from freshman catcher Jacob Ruddell (Warrington, Pa.) and an RBI single from junior infielder Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.). DeCarlo struck again with a two-run double later in the frame, capping the rally and extending the lead to 7–1.
- The Griffins continued to add on in the fifth inning, plating four more runs behind timely hitting from freshman outfielder Charlie Neal (Mickleton, N.J.) (10-1) and junior outfielder Karl Wissman (Cinnaminson, N.J.) (11-1), who each drove in runs as part of a three-hit rally. Gwynedd Mercy finished the day with 11 runs on nine hits, showcasing depth throughout the lineup.
- DeCarlo led the offense with a standout 2-for-5 performance and five RBI, while Ruddell added two RBI and scored twice. The Griffins' bullpen followed with a solid outing, as freshman pitcher Tristan Perry (Cherry Hill, N.J.) struck out four over 2.1 scoreless innings, and senior pitcher Ryan Kasper (Levittown, Pa.) closed the game with two strikeouts to secure the victory.
Game Two:
- In the second inning, sophomore infielder Deven Ross (Lansdale, Pa.) made history by being hit by a pitch for the 18th time this season, setting a new school record.
- The Griffins wasted no time getting on the board, breaking through in the second inning with a four-run rally. Senior outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.) delivered a two-RBI single (2-0) to spark the offense, while Waldron added a sacrifice fly (3-0), and DeCarlo followed with an RBI double to extend the lead to 4-0.
- Gwynedd Mercy continued to apply pressure in the fourth inning, plating three more runs behind extra-base hits from sophomore catcher Peter Burnley (Sicklerville, N.J.) and Nodeland. Waldron added an RBI double as the Griffins stretched the lead to 7-0.
- The offense stayed hot in the fifth and sixth innings, combining for six additional runs. Burnley and Nodeland each drove in runs during a two-run fifth, while senior outfielder Jon Cimino's (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) three-run home run highlighted a four-run sixth inning that put the game out of reach.
- Nodeland led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance and five RBI, while Burnley added two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI, including a triple. DeCarlo contributed two hits and an RBI, and Waldron chipped in with two RBI as part of a balanced 13-hit attack.
- On the mound, freshman pitcher Landon Glovas (Nazareth, Pa.) was dominant, tossing 6.2 innings while allowing just one hit and striking out seven to earn the win.
